You know, I'd just rather pet the kitty.

So soothing.
Soft, warm fur.
Blinking eyes.
Running motor
Those kneading paws.

You know, I'd just rather pet the kitty.

But the rage bursts in.
My rage.
Reacting to their rage.
Uncomfortable.
Horrifying.
Those visions in my mind.
Clutching at my soul.
Causing me not to sleep.

Their ACTS of violence.
Their ACTS of abuse.

Still, you know, I'd just rather pet the kitty.
Just pet the kitty.
And soothe my own unpleasantness away.

But I cannot only pet the kitty,
Simply pet the kitty.
And soothe my own unpleasantness away.

Putting my love into motion,
I must speak out for the Cat.
I must listen to "that unpleasantness".
I must ACT.

Please. Stop the abuse.
